Lake Alpine

Lake Alpine accommodates all types of boating activity except those that involve speed. There is a speed limit on the lake of 10 miles per hour. Power boats are allowed.  There is a free boat lunch ramp across from the lodge. You may rent canoes, kayaks, and fishing boats at the lodge.  You can also rent kayaks at Bear Valley Cross Country. The fishing can be good.  I have heard of five pound trout being caught.  The lake is planted with trout regularly. A friend caught a five pound trout in the summer of 2005 fly fishing from shore. Good luck!

                               Utica                                

My favorite lake for canoeing/kayaking is Utica Lake. Take the Spicer road exit off highway 4. You will turn left after about eight miles. The road is dirt but is in good shape. The road is rough. When you come to a fork in the road take the left road. If you go straight you will go to Union Lake. The boat lunch for Utica is a right turn when you see the sign and pit toilet. Power boats are not allowed on Utica.
